Registering A Death

Please be aware that deaths must be registered within a 5 day period by the Registrar of births and deaths unless the death has been referred to the coroner. If, however, you are away and cannot register in that period, you MUST contact the registrars office and inform them of this and you will be given a grace period of fourteen days to register. You must take with you the medical certificate and, if available, your loved ones medical card. You will be given a death certificate. You may also want to obtain further copies from the registrar as banks, building societies and insurance companies will require certified copies. There will be a small charge for these.

A green certificate will be given to you which must be given to us, this then releases your loved one for cremation or burial.

Thank you again for yesterday. My family were very grateful for the way you all dealt with everything and we were very pleased with how smoothly everything ran yesterday.I felt it was a very fitting send off for my mum and we appreciated everything Lucking & Sons did for us.

Thank you both so much for your expert care and dedication shown to us, on our very sad loss. Everything went so well and just what my Mother wanted and wished for. I know see would have been so proud. Thank You So Much.

Many Thanks for all you did at Mum's funeral in such dreadful weather. Please pass on my thanks to all your colleagues who also did so much to make the Occassion run so smoothly. I really appreciate your help and kindness in making mum's last journey so trouble free.
